Lets answer what Sumayya wishes to know about the me:)

  • What’s your blog about and what is the aim of your blog?

Momscanvas is about encouraging and supporting moms who wish to restart their Art career that they once gave up on due to the day to day commitments of life after marriage and kids. As I’m a mom myself and strive hard to scoop out sometime from my daily schedule and dedicate those hours in to making Art, I truly comprehend the amount of motivation one needs to indulge oneself in such a prolific and time consuming task. Through my blog, I aim to communicate means and practices which may help moms in achieving their desired goals related to Arts. I also publish interviews of successful artist moms who have successfully managed their house, kids and creative careers and now stepped ahead as an inspiration for moms who need an emotional uplift.

  • What are you most grateful for?

I’m grateful to my Creator for giving me such an amazing life partner, supportive family, brilliant kids, amazing skills and a life that I love.

  • Who is your inspiration? and why?

Moms are my inspiration. Being a mom, either working or stay-at-home and keeping it all together is a miracle on its own. The job, honestly, requires keeping our nose to grindstone unless we achieve what we desire and I solute every mother on earth for being what she is.

  • What are you most passionate about?

I am a multi-passionate woman. And I adore all of my passions, equally. I wish I had one single passion to focus and treasure but lets accept it, I’m just not wired that way. I am an artist, an avid reader,  a writer, love to travel and explore and can’t live without yoga.

  • Are you a saver or a spender?

A combination of both, mostly.

  • What’s the story behind your blog’s name?

I wanted to name my blog in such a way that it showed relationship between Arts and passionate moms. A mom’s canvas is broader than we imagine. The melange of sentiments containing desires, joys, sorrows, warmth, rages, prides, sacrifices, compromises, unconditional love, just imagine a mom expressing it all on canvas through her own imagination?! Absolutely, Out of this world, right?

  • Coffee or tea?

The climate that I live in, I prefer tea.

  • How do you spend your weekends?

Weekends go busier than the five days of the week. I prefer spending time with kids and usually plan outdoor activities with them. I don’t work from home on weekends but I do like visiting exhibitions which in someway are essential part of my work as well. Thirdly, Along with looking in to postponed matters, my husband and I , cherish and value family commitments as well.

  • Any advice for new bloggers?

My only advice to new bloggers is, “You’re writing for yourself, never stop expressing yourself through words and stay away from negativity hovering over you. Enjoy the process, avoid engaging yourself in competitions. You’re unique in your own way, remember, emotional stability is essential to achieve what you desire. “

  • Where in the world would you most like to visit?

I would like to visit all those places that are enriched with art and heritage. I am an old soul and history inspires me to the fullest. I would like to explore culturally and historically enriched European countries, someday.

  • How did you start blogging? And how has your journey as a blogger been so far?

I have always been an avid reader, never felt much love for writing until my first baby was born. I started off with a little diary to keep his records and express his little milestones. I continued the process even after my second baby arrived. Secondly, as I was new to the city, I explored a lot and wanted to clear misconceptions of many people living in rest of the Pakistan, about Karachi and its culture. So I came up with my first ever blog post “Dear Karachi”, which I am still in love with. Got much appreciation from friends and family. Blogging came to halt for two years in between due to some reasons but in 2018 I decided to continue my love for writing and Arts together so Mom’s Canvas came in to existence. Loving the journey so far and plan to take it ahead with a lot of enthusiasm and new ideas.

I will nominate 11 bloggers for sunshine blogger award as soon as I gain some strength in the following:). Lets hope for the best.

  1. My Facebook messenger is not working properly. So this is the only way to reach you.
This is a stupid question actually. But I think we are friends and I can ask u the silliest question possible 😂
I posted in PLB today. The admin approved too. But after sometime I received a notification from Facebook that the post is against the standard of Facebook. So I have to post it again in PLB.
I posted again in plb then.
This Never happened to me before. So, I was wondering
    1) will the Plb admin approve my post the second time or not?
    2) have I done something wrong that the post was against Facebook standard?
